Our blog is a year old! One year ago this week, we were sitting in the Capital One lounge in the Dallas airport on a layover to Puerto Rico. Sitting in that lounge with a laptop, we purchased the weekbyeweek.com domain and set up our blog site. Our first post was posted February 9th, 2024, and outlined the genesis of our desire to move to the Caribbean full time.
Since then, we have posted weekly about our plans and the steps we need to take to sell the house and divest ourselves of stuff. In the last year, we have posted 53 blog entries. Our blog has had 4,707 views from 2,904 visitors. We are truly thankful for each and every one of you for reading this blog and encouraging us in this endeavor!
The first few posts of the blog focused on the framework of our nomading plan: finances, logistics, and timeline. It is no surprise that our most popular post of the year was our third post: The Finances of Nomading.

The bulk of the posts for the rest of the year have been focused on getting the house ready to sell in 67ish weeks. We’ve made significant progress on this, thanks to this blog keeping us accountable, but we still have more to go.
We have painted lots of things gray and white:

We have cleaned out closets and pared down wardrobes:

We have taken several trips since that day on the way to Puerto Rico:

Through this whole busy, crazy year, this blog has guided us in maintaining our focus on the plan in front of us. Watching the title of each blog post tick down each week keeps the timeline forefront in our minds. (Spoiler alert: in 7 weeks, we will be halfway to the end!). Even if no one ever read this blog, it would serve as a great record for us of this 120 weeks of insanity. But the fact that people do read it makes us pause and reflect and make sure that what we are doing each week is logical in advancing our plan as well as being informative and, hopefully, entertaining for all of you.
If you like our blog, please consider passing it along to your friends. We would love to share this adventure with as many people as possible! We meet so many people who can’t believe that this is a possibility. We want to show the world that there are no limits. With enough planning, life can be whatever you want it to be!
Next week’s blog post will be coming to you from another airport lounge – this one in Miami as we travel to Costa Rica. See you then!
